The Episcopal Diocese of Lexington
Mission House

Ministry and Mission

The future mission and ministry of this diocese is limitless. If the biblical stories were to tell us nothing else, they would certainly tell us that “nothing is impossible with God.” The rebirth of Mission House is but one example of the opportunities that await the people of God who are willing to think “outside the box.”

In addition to housing the offices of the diocese, Mission House is used by many diocesan organizations as a central meeting location.

Ministries at Mission House:

o       Church Under the Bridge - An ecumenical organization that brings a hot meal and church to the Homeless of inner-city Lexington.

o       Reading Camp transforms Mission House for a week each summer, serving children of the Lexington area.

o       English as a Second Language Classes.

o       Community meetings and events.

o        Bishop’s Harvest Festival & BBQ – an annual diocesan gathering at Mission House.

o       Diocese-wide training events and programs, including Deacon School, Prevention of Sexual Misconduct (POSM) training, Young Adult activities, meetings of Commissions and ministry groups.
