Whereas for sixteen years he has given devoted service to his parish, the city of Danville, the Diocese of Lexington, and the wider world and,

Whereas he has been an inspired liturgist, encouraging his congregation to worship creatively, musically, thoughtfully, actively and,

Whereas he has been a determined advocate for outreach and service to the community and,

Whereas he has been a loving pastor to his parish flock, caring for them through crises of illness, death, stress, and pain as well as in the joyful moments of weddings, reunions, anniversaries, potlucks, and so much more – wise compassionate, tender and loving, caring for them individually in ways unknown to the parish as a whole, but known to each individually and,

Whereas this is the last convention at which he will be present as their rector,

Therefore be it resolved, that this 110th Annual convention of the Diocese of Lexington enter in its minutes that the parishioners of Trinity Church, Danville, express their heartfelt appreciation of Robert Kirkpatrick as he retires.  They will miss him behind the altar rail as the communion music fills Trinity’s nave in the days and years to come, and know that wherever he is, he will be hearing and singing the Gospel every day.  They pray that God will bless Bob and Priscilla, now and always.

R-23  Be it resolved, that this 110th Annual Convention of the Diocese of Lexington gives thanks to God for our Bishop, the Right Reverend Stacy F. Sauls for his perseverance, dedicated leadership, sense of adventure, and love for this diocese and gives thanks also for his wife Ginger for her faith, devotion and unfailing support of a husband who refuses to let life become boring.
